| Description: |
As a Martial Art, Hapkido teaches self-confidence, self-discipline and self-defense. This art seeks not to overscome an attacker with strength, but to use techniques which turn an attacker's own force against himself.
Hapkido is a complete art that uses joint-locking techniques like Aikido, throws and finishes like Jiu-Jutsu or Judo, and kicks and punches like Tae Kwon Do or Karate. Hapkido emphasizes practical techniques and stresses the importance of learning how to fall safely. Hapkido is a martial art, not a competitive sport and thus emphasizes the most important aspect of any martial art - self defense. Of course, they have fun too! |
