Masters Swim

Recreational Services is offering a United States Masters Swimming program for students (18 & over), Faculty, Staff, and community members. The program consists of motivated swimmers interested in further developing their stroke mechanics, staying fit, or just having fun through exercise. It is designed for those who are able to swim continuously for approximately 20 minutes. All classes are conducted by trained and certified coaches at the Field House Pool. Competitions are available but not required.

Fall 2009 Session:

August 24 - December 18

Practice Time:

September 8 - December 18,2009

5:30-7:00 pm Monday, Wednesday, Friday

6:00-7:30 am Tuesday, Thursday

6:00-7:00 pm Tuesday, Thursday

5:30-7:00pm Sunday

Lane Assignments:

Mondays- Deep End: Lanes 1-4; Shallow End: Lane 4

Tuesdays- Deep End: Lanes 1-6; Shallow End: Lanes 3-4

Wednesdays- Deep End: Lanes 1-4; Shallow End: Lane 4

Thursdays- Lanes 1-6; Shallow End: Lanes 3-4

Fridays- Deep End: Lanes 1-4; Shallow End: Lane 4

Sundays- Shallow End: All Lanes

Pool time will be shared with Iowa Flyers Swimclub. Practices will take place in either the shallow end or deep end.

• Masters Only
  • UI Students: $80
  • Faculty/Staff/Public: $100
• Semester Combo Pass - Lap Swimming & Masters
  • UI Students: $110
  • Faculty/Staff/Public: $130

* A current USMS (United States Masters) Membership Card is required to participate. The annual cost is $25.00. You may register in the Recreational Services Office, or by downloading a form at www.usms.org.
