Class Descriptions

Ab Lab Do you want to get an incredible ab workout? This class is only for the core. Enjoy a variety of ab exercises that will have you looking and feeling great.
Awesome Intervals A full body workout using the step, kickboxing, jump ropes, strength training and the ball. Performed interval style (alternate aerobic and anaaerobic training). A high-intensity workout that can be adapted for all fitness levels.
Balanced Bodies (Yoga/Pilates) A body strength training workout using body weight and performing controlled movements. Additional equipment would include balls and bands. Build strength, balance and body alignment with innovative exercise combinations.
Belly Dance is a joyous and passionate dance. It is a fantastic way to explore the potentialities of your body and express your creativity. A low impact class that is fun and full of energy!
Butts 'N Gutts Spend this time concentrating on your tummy, hips, thighs and butt using fun strength training moves to sculpt and define!!
Hip Hop: A class of jammin’ grooves and slammin’ moves that are so much fun you’ll forget you’re exercising. By blending funk and dance moves, this is a high-energy, whole-body workout. NO experience needed.
Cardio Attack: a sports-inspired cardio workout designed to build stamina & strength. This is a high energy interval training class that combines both strength & easy-to-follow aerobic movements. Move from being an athlete to a competitor!!
Pump Attack: our new combination of cardio attack choreography and Pump
Cardio Blast This is a workout you don't want to miss. Designed with a combination of cardiovascular exercise including (but not limited to) step, hi-lo and cardio circuits.
CardioKickboxing Feel tough and strong as you fight your way through an aerobic workout. This class combines the moves of kickboxing with the energy and pace of aerobics!
Pump This class will provide you with a workout that allows you to successfully push your muscles to the max using light, moderate or heavy weight on a barbell system. MuscleMax is designed for everyone because you control the amount of weight on your barbell.
PUMP Try our new combination of cardio and MuscleMax moves. Get a half hour of heart pounding with half hour of strength training. This is the best of both worlds!!!
College Recess Join Us for this new cardio-based fitness class that utilizes the fresh air of the outdoors to get you fit. Our functional movement class is designed to improve both your cardiovascular and muscular systems. From our home base, 101 Field House, we will explore area parks, trails and playgrounds for an exciting nonmilitary workout. All fitness levels are welcome, so come enjoy the sunshine Incase of inclement weather, please call the Rec Services office at 3PM to see if the class will be canceled.
Step 'n Core This step workout will keep you motivated from start to finish. You'll be sweating your way through energetic movement patterns, some include a cha cha, pony or shuffle mix. You'll conclude with core work on the stability ball before stretching.
Step 'n Sculpt A step aerobic segment followed by strength training with hand weights and resistance tubing.
Sunrise Stretch Start your day with thirty minues of relaxing, yoga-based strecthing. This gentle full body stretching combines with the morning sun to help you lengthen your muscles, relieve tension and stress, and get your day started off right.
Gentle Stretch An easy approach to releasing Monday morning tension. Stretch bands will be incorporated throughout the class, helping you to achieve a deeper stretch. With simple moves and a gentle environment, not only will you lower your stress levels, but will also improve flexibility and balance.
Strength Conditioning A barbell class designed to improve strength and endurance. High repetition circuit training of every muscle group utilizing the best classic power lift exercises of squats, presses and curls to the unheard of pork chops and burpees.
Yoga Fusion An invigorating combination of yoga and dance that will increase strength and flexibility through restorative stretching and creative movement. Open to people of all experience levels who wish to balance body and mind.

 

Locations & Class Information

* Field House aerobic classes take place in Room 462, located off the track on the north side of the building.
* Halsey classes take place in the Brown Studio, room 105 located in Halsey Hall, the same building as Fitness East.
* There is no class on Saturday when there is a HOME football game.
* NO CLASS Labor Day, Monday, Tuesday, September 7.
