About Iowa:
The University of Iowa is located in Iowa City, Iowa, a community of 85,000 people situated on the Iowa River in the eastern part of the state. This liberal community has a cosmopolitan atmosphere with the benefits of small-town living. The University was founded in 1847 and is the state's oldest and largest public university. The University of Iowa is a member of the Big Ten conference.

About Recreational Services:
Recreational Services offers a variety of programs for UI students, faculty/staff and members of the Iowa City community. Program areas include Intramurals, Fitness & Wellness, Lesson Programs, Touch The Earth, Sport Clubs, the Macbride Raptor Project, School of the Wild, Wildlife Camps and Open Recreation. The main facility is the UI Field House. The Hawkeye Tennis & Recreation Complext was recently added in July of 2006 and construction has begun on the Campus Recreation & Wellness Center, scheduled to open Spring 2010.
