Recreational Services either hosts or participates in several special events throughout the year. Above are links to each of these events. Some of them are external links.

Hawkeye Kids Camp

Recreational Services and Family Services are joining together to offer a camp over Spring Break. Open only to the children of UI Faculty, Staff and Students, the Hawkeye Kids Camp will be located in the UI Field House and include activities ranging from basketball and volleyball to arts and crafts.

Steve Goff Memorial Cross-Country 5K Run/Walk

Steve Goff as a professor in the Department of Health, Leisure and Sport Studies who died from cancer. The Steve Goff Memorial is an intramural event that raises money for a scholarship in Steve Goff's Memory. It takes place every fall at the Ashton Cross-Country Course on the Hawkeye Campus and is open to the public.

Night Games

Night Games is a late night activity sponsored by University Housing and Recreational Services. Held one Saturday a month, this event features swimming, rock climbing, basketball, special events and FREE FOOD!

Cultural Diversity Festival

The Cultural Diversity Festival is an international event designed to give all members of The University of Iowa and surrounding communities an opportunity to learn about each other through novel cultural approaches.

Faculty/Staff Golf League

The Faculty/Staff Golf League is a summer golf league offered by Recreational Services for UI Faculty and Staff. This site will be updated as we get closer to the summer.

Hawkeye Shootout

The Hawkeye Shootout is a youth basketball tournament hosted every December by Recreational Services. Every year 7th and 8th grade boys and girls basketball teams from around the region travel to Iowa City for this tournament.
