Golf League

2008 Faculty/Staff Golf League

The Faculty/Staff Golf League is a 9-hole doubles league with different ability groupings. The league is played on a handicap basis with 80% of the difference between a player's average and scratch used as the handicap. Players who were in the league last year will use their season's average to start out. New players will figure their handicap on the first day using their score from the first round.

Teams are made up of two golfers. Players are responsible for finding their own partner. However, if a player is unable to find their own partner, they may sign-up on the F/S Golf Free Agent list and get matched up with another player, if one is available, to form a team. The free agent list will be located at the Recreational Services Office, E 216 Field House.

Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday sections will be available. There are three different levels of leagues. The Intermediate Sections are recommended for teams that have a combined 9-hole average score of 52 or below. The Recreational Sections are recommended for the teams that have a combined 9-hole average of above 52. The Open Section on Sunday is for golfers of all ability ranges.

The league will be 10 weeks long. Each section of the league will end on different weeks due to holidays and previously scheduled outings at Finkbine Golf Course.
