Steve Goff Memorial Cross-Country 5K Run/Walk

Dr. Steve Goff was a professor in the Department of Health, Leisure and Sport Studies from 1994 to 1998. He was an outstanding educator and athlete who died from cancer at the age of 43. Steve lived his life by the motto "Life is not a spectator sport". He was always encouraging his students to become involved and participate in activities which promoted health and well-being.

2007 Race Details
Date: Sunday, September 30, 2007
Race Day Registration: 8:15 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.
Start Time: 9:00 a.m. for walkers & 9:30 a.m. for runners.
Location:

University of Iowa Ashton Cross-Country Course.

Located west of the Hawkeye Rec Fields and North of Melrose Ave. Please park in the Hawkeye Commuter/Storage Lot.

Entry Fee: Registration is $12 if received before September 28 and $15 on Race Day (8:15 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.). Register in E216 Field House before September 28 or at the course on the 30th.
Scholarship: All proceeds from the run/walk will be donated to the Steve Goff Scholarship Fund. (The Scholarship will be awarded yearly to an undergraduate student in Leisure Studies at the University of Iowa.)
Runner Awards:

There will be two different divisions: Intramural and open. The Intramural Division is for all University students, faculty or staff. The Open Division is for everyone not affiliated with the University.

Intramural Champion t-shirts will be awarded to the winners in the 5K Run and 5K Walk for the following divisions: Open-Men, Open-Women, Intramural-Men and Intramural-Women.
